Double Girder Overhed Cranes
Double girder overhead travelling cranes are the solution for high capacities, long spans and demanding duty cycles. The trolley runs on top of the two main girders, providing maximum hook lifting height and allowing walkways, maintenance platforms, magnet or grab equipment, and auxiliary hoists to be integrated. AXION double girder cranes are supplied in capacities from [5] to [75] tons with spans up to [40] m, in duty groups from ISO M4 (FEM 1Am) to M8 (FEM 5m). Box-girder structures are calculated to EN 13001 / EN 15011 and FEM 1.001, with frequency-controlled travel and lifting drives as standard. Typical applications: steel plants, foundries, machine shops, power generation, marble and cement industries.
Single Girder Overhead Cranes
Single girder overhead travelling cranes offer the most economical solution for light and medium duty material handling. The underslung electric wire rope hoist travels along the lower flange of a single box or profile girder, keeping the crane's dead weight, wheel loads and runway structure requirements to a minimum. AXION single girder cranes cover capacities from [1] to [20] tons and spans up to [25] m, in duty groups ISO M3–M6 (FEM 1Bm–3m). Frequency-controlled long travel and cross travel, soft-start hoisting, radio remote control and anti-sway functions are available. Ideal for production workshops, warehouses, assembly lines and maintenance bays.
Gantry Cranes
Gantry and semi-gantry cranes run on ground-level rails and require no supporting runway structure, making them ideal for outdoor yards, open storage areas and workshops where building columns cannot carry crane loads. AXION supplies single and double girder gantry cranes, semi-gantry versions with one leg travelling on a wall-mounted runway, and heavy portal cranes for stockyard and port applications, in capacities up to [63] tons and spans up to [35] m with cantilevers on both sides. Outdoor units are designed for the specified wind loads to EN 1991-1-4 / EN 13001 and optionally equipped with storm anchors, rail clamps, wind speed monitoring and protective coating systems for corrosive environments.
Jib Cranes
Slewing jib cranes provide fast, precise and ergonomic lifting at individual workstations, machine tools and loading points. AXION supplies floor-mounted pillar jib cranes with 180°, 270° or 360° slewing, wall-mounted and wall-travelling versions, and articulated (double-arm) jibs for reaching around obstacles. Capacities range from [125] kg to [10] tons with outreach up to [12] m, equipped with chain or wire rope hoists and manual, motorised or frequency-controlled slewing. Steel columns and foundation anchor sets are calculated for the applied loads and delivered together with the crane. A cost-effective way to relieve main overhead cranes of repetitive short-distance handling.
ATEX Cranes
AXION designs and manufactures explosion-protected lifting equipment for use in potentially explosive gas and dust atmospheres, in accordance with Directive 2014/34/EU (ATEX). Overhead travelling cranes, gantry cranes, jib cranes and hoists are supplied in equipment categories II 2G and II 2D for Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22, with temperature classes and gas groups selected to suit the plant's hazardous area classification. Ignition hazard assessment is carried out to EN ISO 80079-36/-37, using certified Ex motors, brakes, limit switches, control panels and radio remote controls, spark-resistant hook and wheel materials, bronze bumpers, anti-static components and dedicated earthing systems. Complete technical documentation and conformity assessment are provided for each unit. Applications: chemical and petrochemical plants, paint and solvent facilities, flour and sugar mills, grain silos, wood processing, pharmaceuticals and energy.
Electric Wire Rope Hoists
Electric wire rope hoists form the lifting unit of AXION cranes and are also supplied separately for monorail systems and existing installations. Available from [500] kg to [50] tons in single-fall and multiple-fall reeving, in standard headroom, low headroom, monorail trolley, double-rail trolley and stationary (foot-mounted) versions. Rope drums, sheaves and rope selection are dimensioned to ISO 4308-1 with duty classification from ISO M3 to M8 (FEM 1Bm–5m). Standard equipment includes two-speed or frequency-controlled hoisting, geared and weight-based upper/lower limit switches, overload protection, DC-braked hoist motor with adjustable brake, IP55 protection and IEC insulation class F. Optional load display, operating hour counter, service life monitoring and Ex-proof execution.
